Sorry to have to break the news to you dear, but the DVD was never released as a region 2 and PAL. Not to my knowledge anyway.

Aus is region 6 or 7 (if memorty serves me well...), so there's no way it will play unless you have a multi-region machine, or one you can either hack or chip (I chipped mine and it Region 1 DVD's (and Title of DVD!) play FINE!!!
If you need any clarification on region encoding, chipping, NTSC/PAL, have a chat with me! If you have a machine that can be hacked via the remote control, I MIGHT be able to find the hack code for you, or at least point you in the right direction...
;D

PS2? Hmmmmm.... I only know for certain about DVD players, not PS2s... ( Iwas one of the bods who boughht a Nintendo games console purely because it was a Star Wars Limited edition thereof!)
I know you CAN "chip" PS2s, but I'm not sure about the legalities of doing that. I'd ASSUME it'd be the same as DVD players...As for hacks, I'll ask around for you and report back.

...Wow - Brisbane hey... Where did you get your Title of DVD from 'cause it'd be great it I could get it in Australia because then I wouldn't have to worry about all this crap... A chip seems to be the only option I can consider at the moment... Does anyone know a place to obtain one or the price it might come too? (Aussie dollars) Or better yet... Has Title of DVD been released over here or what? LJC

If you (madly!) decide to mod-chip it yourself, make sure you have the following:
1. A VERY fine soldering iron because you'll be soldering onto chips (DIRECTLY onto the pins as well as the board in the case of DVD players) Trust me on this, I'm an engineer with the world's largest assortment of soldering iron accessories - you can never have too many nibs and things!
2. An endless supply of coffee. (Vital to the smooth running of the modification)
3. An assortment of swearwords (to be used liberally)
4. Spare bits of fine INSULTED cable (a dissassembled phone cable works a treat!)
5. Insultating tape to wrap round EVERYTHING to prevent short circuits and gum things to the board (including cat hair...)
6. A spare Dad/Bro/Cousin/BF/Husband to "place a finger HERE..." and hold things down (also for moral support while swearing!) If you have a spare female relative who is technical and can do the above - all the more better because you can stop for "chocolate breaks" and gossip part way thru the procedure. Thereby taking all day...
7. A steady hand (so no booze during surgery...)
8. Booze for AFTER the surgery.
9. A multi-meter to test connections before you put it all back together and find it doesn't work...
10. A pair of tweezers to fish out all the little screws that will ALWAYS fall into the bottom of the unit!
11. A baseball bat to hit the damn thing with...
;D
Oh.. and NEVER expect the supplied instructions to make any sense at all...

Uhm, I'm assuming the cable is INSULTED because of all the swear words? ;D Or was that a typo? My father, who's an electrician, has mentioned INSULATED cables to me, but I may be way off here ... Sorry, dear, I just couldn't help myself! Now I'll shut up and stop being an arse. Ama BTW, I really enjoyed reading that "guide" .... It was HILARIOUS!

I've just had word in from my PS2 expert:
"PS2 is Multi region for 1 and 2. You can buy a CD that makes it multi region, writes to firmware. Search in any store. BEWARE: Many DVD have RCE which cripples DVD players that are multi region. Must go too many talking to me!!! Have splitting headache as well, still feel like shite,,,,"
(I think the last bit's probably not relevant, but you get the picture!!!!)

for starters ive seen title of DVD in a HMV at parra westfield in sydney so it cant be that hard to find bluey..
just buy it.. someone will be able to tape it the VHS if your DVD player wont play it. chances are it will.. chances are your playstation will also, ive got PS2 and it is not mod-chipped or anything, and its been playing dvds from everywhere recently. i came back from south east asia in march with a swag of dvds and its been playing them all.. obviously they are all burnt, but it plays them (which it shouldnt), most would be "asian"? zone which it plays, some are NTSC, it plays them all. i assmume it helps my TV is NTSC compatible, otherwise those ones would come out black&white, buit basically its not as bad as you think.. so just buy the DVD and i reckon you'll be right.
