Hey--a thread in the Filter section was kinda morphing in this direction, and I thought it would be cool to have a thread just for introductions. So...TA DA!!!!!! Introducing the FDG Introduction thread... So--FDG--ROLL CALL! Give us the who, what, where, when, why, and how...whatever you want to share about who you are... This should be interesting...

I'm THE RFW. I run a site called The Rich Facts which is a monster. It grows constantly almost it seems, but with the downtime between records and when I get time to chill out from studies, I might get the chance to renovate some of it and add some more Facts. Oh, and I'm one of the three FDG Administrators.
Other than that, I'm 20(will be 21 in September), in my second year of college and really wondering WHEN do I get to start on my Major? I'm so tired of generals. In fact my one class today is Anthropology! NO. I'm an English Major. And I'm still stuck on the generals.
Other than that, ummm there's not much else to tell, I guess.

My name is FILTERED, I've been an alcoholic for- wait, where am I again?
Oh-oh yeah, I've been a FILTER since '96 or so. I gots me a web thinggy with a couple Filter pictures- check it out sometime (see link in signature). I am a kolledge student, (graphic design) here in Oregon. I record music on the side (my own stuff mostly), and I own WAY too much music equipment for someone as poor as me...here's the list (for this week):
-1999 Gibson Les Paul Studio "Gibby" (I just got a Paul Reed Smith pick up for it yesterday) -5-string mexican Fender jazz deluxe bass -Oscar Schmidt acoustic/electric guitar -Behringer V-AMP 2 Digital Signal Processor/Preamp (like the POD, but better) -BOSS Acoustic Simulator -BOSS Tremolo Pedal -Alesis Microverb 4 (rack reverb/delay unit) -Gallien-Krueger 250 RL solid state head (stereo 50watt amp- thank you Frank Cavanaugh for selling your old amp head) -Alesis SR-16 Drum Machine (Short Bus here I come! Whoa, that sounds really bad out of context...) -Yamaha PSR-190 keyboard (For my piano tones) -Shure SM57 mic (for vocals and recording my acoustic) -And as of about 4 days ago, a new microKORG synth (I needed a new toy) -All that's left to get is that Delta 44 soundcard.
I buy and sell music equipment ALL of the time on eBay as I am looking to work in the music industry to become a engineer, producer, programmer, coffee maker, remixer, and eventually Rae Dileo.
Springbreak starts this afternoon and you can bet that I will spend most of the night working on my music. I don't plan on breaking it big as a band because I know that's damn near impossible, I just want to go through the process so I can start to figure out the music industry my self. I would like to say my biggest model for the kind of music I write has been Filter over all, but in the last three weeks I can't stop listening to Audioslave's album. You guys will be the first to judge me.
I do school most of the time and on the weekends I work in in-house security at the Rose Quarter (where the Portland Trail Blazers play- hey, it's free concerts and basketball games and I get to arrest employees!)
And lastly, one weekend a month, and two weeks a year (pending war), I am a Oregon Army National Guardsmen. I am a Cavalry Scout and my job is forward battlefield reconnaissance and security. Most of my job is either on foot- or in my HMMWV ("hummer").
I don't know if it's good or bad that I can sum my life up in one page...

I'm Chels, probably the youngest on the board. I'm 15 and I'm from Edinburgh in Scotland. I play bass. Umm... I'm a big fan of The X Files and Sting, umm... I got into Filter through The X Files. My favourite song is... God Damn Me. I've been posting here for a few months now. What else? Oh yeah, I smoke alot. I'm still at school and I'm hoping to go to university in a few years. I like Vans Trainers and I think that bananas smell icky. And I'm against the war!
Is that enough?

Hey allll! Im MeGhAn and I am a second year at the University of Virginia, the #1 public school in the nation which was founded by Thomas Jefferson. GO HOOS! I am majoring in environmental science and minoring in German. I lived most of my life overseas as my rents are military. I lived in England and Germany for 3 and 5 years respectively and have been to every country in Europe except for Ireland and Portugal. I have been to Africa as well and am going to Australia this summer and South America with my bf soon. I play all sports and run every day...I am quite an athlete. In the future I hope to get a job in research or in fishery and wildlife management after college. Interest before pay is my motto when it comes to jobs. I gotta like what im doin; money comes second. Later I am going to join the military and serve my wonderful country. Music rocks my world. I cannot really do any activity without music...from getting dressed to eating dinner. It rocks my world. Filter is my fave group (duh) but i have many many others...and i like almost any genre of music as well..classical and bluegrass included. I play guitar as well. One last thing... I love my fish: "honkin fish" or "fishu" as my roommate calls him. And I love all of you Good topic, unwillingsong! never hesitate to hit me up at filterdgirl or megdarney. peace and love -Meg

for those of you who don't know....i'm wark.....the founder of the FDG, which way back in the day started off as an email discussion group that went with some other Filter site.....this was like 5 years ago.....and now it's grown into Richard Patrick talking about it whenever he updates the rich words... now, about me...... Well I'm Ratgirl from Colorado and I know I'm the oldest in here and lets just say around Roberts age. And I'm a poor starving artist, I do oil paintings of people sold only a few and have had a couple of drawings I done published in some magazines. I like to write not sure if I am any good at it or not, I have been working on a fantasy book for awhile now it kind of gotten out of hand so I need to work it in to a few smaller books in on big one. If you like you can check out some of the poems I have wrote at ratgirl16.tripod.com/ I have a small art gallery of some stuff I done with the Art dabbler program need to scan off some of my drawings to put up. I am also a disabled person and I hate that word disable cause I feel I can do just as much as any one I just dont hear in one ear and have only half my hearing in the other so I love to play my music a bit load!!! I share a house with my sister which I take care of for her while she works, and I like to tell people I am the puppy nanny, I have 5 dogs to take care of from the ages of 13 to 1 yr., one of the dogs is mine and I own 2 cats. thats just about all I can think of right now. Oh I am Bubbles Aunt

As you can tell by my name, I have two dogs.
I became interested in Filter through the X-files and have been a fan ever since.
My husband and I are expecting our first in August, so that is taking up most of our time. I am starting early on a new Filter fan.
I have to agree with filterdgirl. I was an accountant for 4 years and decided one day that I was living "Stuck In Here" and needed to find something I enjoy. Now I work in the laboratory in one of the local hospitals and I love what I do now.
If I left anything out, I'm sorry. Just ask if you have any questions....like one of my friends said once "If you are brave enough to ask, I will answer, just get ready for the answer."

I have been a Filter fan for quite a while now. As with all of the music that I listen to, I seem to get hooked on a few albums at a time, listen to them repeatedly for weeks or months and then due to change in mood or season stop listening to them for a while. I haven't listened to Amalgamut for a couple months but for some reason this week I've been playing it every day, all day at work. I just can't get enough of it. I work as a database administrator and fortunately for me, I just put on my headphones and tune out the world while I'm working. I love to run and do all kinds of outdoor stuff and am amazed at how this album in particular keeps me going when I'm running on the track. Today I set "World Today" and "The 4th" to repeat and it put me into a trance. I ran for an hour and a half. My mind completely cleared out, it was like dreaming. I'm not all about working on databases and running though. I have two cats at home that encourage me to reconsider activities that fall into the category : -sitting around -or-stretching-out-in-the-sun. Basically that means that I take cues from them to just RELAX. I am working on a degree in urban planning with a minor in German. I will be taking a break after this semester in May. Has anyone visited an awesome city lately? I'm curious to know where people have visited and what they liked or didn't like.
