Im not sure if anyone has talked about this, but im really confused about the state of filter right after the amalgamut was released. Shortly after its release, Richard went into rehab and he had canceled the tour for the album. When his health got better, he started talking about (on his site) a new album and never mentioned anything about the Amalagamut. So what i want to know is if he is ditching the album to work on better material? Does anyone have any information on filter's staus about the amalgamut and a new album?

Hey, JR... I think if you do some poking around through the old threads you will find a lot of discussion on this topic. Also on Officialfilter.com in Rich Words. ...welcome to the fold, uh, er, the board...

Hey Jesse, I wouldn't give up on Amalgamut . . . rumour is that Rich is working on a video for 'American Cliche' . . . Keep checking the official site, too; I know I do. Lexie

timmy the 1-legged homeless boy got better promotion then the amalgamut In Reprise/3AM's defense, I'd like to say that Filter got as much label support as anyone...MULTIPLE magazine articles, the Reviews section in Spin had a picture of filter on the first page, there was a full-page BACK COVER ad on Billboard..believe me, they promoted the hell out of the album. What we're seeing is what happens when a band doesn't tour/doesn't follow up with a strong second video/single. Note, this is not a slam against the band, simply an observation of occurance.

Sevendust spent 2 years touring for their album, 264 shows, they did a minimal cost video and got no radio or mtv coverage. Their album went gold because they toured their asses off and they are one of those bands that is ALWAYS touring. If filter was still touring, their 3rd album would be rockin hardcore. I wish they toured half as much as Sevendust, those 2 bands play SO WELL TOGETHER. They need to partner up again.

There has also been talk of releasing The Only Way with a video. It depends if Warner Brothers decides to take a risk spending money on it. But it's being talked about. And it would help get more of the Amalgumut cd out there which would be great. Happy Life!!!!

There has also been talk of releasing The Only Way with a video There have been rumors--nothing from any reliable source. Our MOST reliable source--Rich--has let us know pretty clearly that he has moved on to his next project.

Hey may haved moved on, but a while back he did mention that there was more to come. See Page 5, under Amalgamut News.
You would also think that the band and the record company both would want to put out a new video and song out. That way you promote Amalgamut and get people re-connected with the for the upcomoing album. Marketing does have its charm!
