Well I enjoy the Mutt CD, and hope new listeners find it and enjoy it. Why do some feel it has no value and should just be swept under the rug? The statement it's in the past we should just move along, why? Just act like it's not there? Like it's not an important part of Filter? Like Richie didn't create something important? I think it should be enjoyed and celebrated and wished continued success. And us of all people should be the ones doing that!

While I agree with you, I only agree up until a point. I think it's unrealistic to think we will have the tour picked up again. BUT that doesn't mean we might not have other things such as singles or videos done, it's just a matter if they'll be likely.
I think the Amalgamut is a great record, even if it didn't sell well or if people think it didn't have as much "emotion" or what ever in it. I wrote a 5 page review on it that pretty much said it was great for what it WAS. We should like it and I know a lot of fans do. I just think a lot are trying to be realistic about the whole matter. We're seeing that Rich is moving on and taking the cue but that doesn't mean we don't think the Amalgamut shouldn't get more time to shine so to speak.

I'd have to agree with DissMe on this one, although i very much like "The Almagamut" it didn't quite have the diversity and magic of "Title of Record" but i thought that it was a far more mature record, Richie's talents are very strongly demonstarted on the latest disc, i get the feeling the reason "Title" did so well was because of it's diversity and more it's commerically appealing sound to the norm of our world out there, i don't feel that this was done on purpose at ll by the guys i just feel that they wrote & created what they desired to at the time, now further down the line people seem to be dissmissing "Mutt" and that is just ludicrous, it is in itself a pregression of what Filter have accomplised along their journey so far, to sweep it under the carpet, would be an act of delusional denial in the extreme, embrace it, don't disgrace it. Also those who live in the past will be eaten by it, the time is now!
I for one think each album tells a story of it's own and the "Mutt" has it's unique Filter story to tell all on it's own, who knows perhaps this next CD will see the Guys produce something out of this world, but if it is similar to the "Mutt" in quality i won't be complaining

I dont think it would be a good move for there to be any more videos off the 'Mut album. The only reason i say so is cuz of the financial costs that a video requires. The record company wont be paying for it, so the band typically has to front the $$ for it,..and if nothing is going to come of it, like more album sales, then why bother? right? Maybe "the only way" would get some airplay, but i dont think we'd be seeing videos for anything else on MTV,...oh what am i saying, MTV sucks donkey balls anyways. Should change its name to ATV,...Angst Tele Vision. Thats all the have on is ANGST! He-said-she-said crap. OK, i wont get started.

Well, because I live in Des Moines and we're literally five years behind everything (remember that episode from "South Park" where they sent the guy-who-was-frozen-in-a-block-of-ice-in-1995 and he couldn't adjust to the new milemium, so they shipped him off to Des Moines? They weren't that far off the mark...) I haven't had a chance to listen to Amalgamut yet but I've read some of the lyrics online and so far, I'm pretty impressed... I can understand how people can prefer one album over another, but on the other side, if a band/artist doesn't experiment with their work, it gets stale. And I can't speak for everyone else, but I hate it when I buy a CD from a band I really really like... and it sounds EXACTLY like the last CD, except the lyrics might sound slightly different. And after listening to it I think: "Whee, I just bought a $16 drink coaster." Anyway, happy news, I ordered Amalgamut online and am supposed to receive it sometime next week. Can't wait to hear it and make a decision for myself whether or not it replaces "Title of Record" as my favorite Filter album

It's like a quality box of choccies (and bear in mind you're talking to a devoted chocaholic here!) every piece is vastly different, but equally as yummy! ... Did I sound like a completely daft twit there?? ;D Oh.. and I can be bribed into doing almost ANYTHING with REALLY dark chocolate.. The blacker, the better! I know where to get the 99% cocoa stuff, and believe me that's SERIOUSLY good stuff!!!!

"Whee, I just bought a $16 drink coaster." 16 bucks! I wish I shopped at your CD store! I payed $30.95 for my Amalgamut and even more for Short Bus! (Money well spent though - even if it is on a highschool job wage) LJC
