Just curious about what everybodys expectations are. What you think it will be like since Richie is in a different place now. I for one am looking forward to what new direction the music will go. I have always thought it is great how different each CD has been. Short Bus stands on it's own, and has a very distinct sound. As does TOR and Mutt. I remember when TOR came out and some Shortbus fans were like whats wrong this is different. It was interesting because why would they be expecting a Short Bus II. Thats what makes Filter exciting you have to expect the unexpected. All artists mature and with that they expand on thier styles and sound. How boring it would be if they didn't. I have always respected Richie for going with whatever he hears in his head, not what people tell him he should do. Thats what makes each CD be true to itself. Thats what Richie gives us.

As much as I don't want to walk into this next CD with any "expectations" per se, it's impossible not to have some initial suspicions. . . so basically what I am thinking the next cd may have is some sonic tendencies of the Short Bus era, while still showing Rich's progression as a musician that we were able to hear on Amalgamut.
I hope that the result is a polished album that is as sonically unique as Short Bus was when it came out.
There. I contributed. : ) I have been offline a lot because I just wrote my last exam Tuesday.
I'm free and freedom tastes of reality, eh kimmers?

Well I feel that this CD is going to be very unique. Richie has grown alot this last year. And I don't think he is going to rehash old songs over and over. He never does. Filter will always be Richie and I think he is going to offer alot more of himself on this one. Just think all the best parts crammed into one CD......what more could you ask for. Happy life.

I, too, am just going to wait and see . . . for now I'm going on what Rich has posted and some comments from Hub and Filtered on some early listen-ins. Sounds good so far (what else? But I'm curious about the artwork for the new album and also -- dare I even inquire -- about a possible timeframe for release? Something in 2004? OK, I may have stepped over the line on that last one hahaha Lexie Chica ;D

Well first of all, I'd like to say that I am REALLY looking forward to a new Filter release. All the previous albums have had their own special qualities, and I'm hoping that the new one will be different from the rest too. Long live DIVERSITY! ;D Don't be silly, Linda! Of course I'm ready for a European mini-tour! As for the inflatable banana ... I have NO idea where it is. *whistles innocently at the ceiling* amA

Well, you're the only one who has a car ... I think it would take me some time to get used to the steering wheel being in the wrong side, and I don't think Badass has a licence, so you'd have to drive! Or would could hire someone to do ... it might save some lives! At any rate, we have to go to some concerts ... I don't really care how we get there!
