...but do they still mak drum machines? You know like if your writing a song, you press play on the machine and it gives you a beat?

That ain't a silly question at ALL SToR! I had to go have a look myself, because I honestly didn't know if they were still being produced! These days it's all sound modules or "virtual drum kits" (i.e. virtual instrument plug ins!) I had a look at Turnkey's website www.turnkey.co.uk and they had the following: 1. Boss BR-202 Dr. Groove Programmable Drum Machine With 3-Track Sequencer £259.99 2.Boss DR-670 Rhythm Drum Machine £199.99 Boss are the most common, but I think Yamaha used to do a range of drum machines as well... (Don't forget to check out 2nd hand stuff on eBay, etc... )

also check out Fruity Loops. it's a drum machine software program.....runs bout $80 or so i think. good stuff.

i went out today and bought a Boss DR-3 for under $200 (US)....it's a pretty simple machine....i'm enjoying it so far.
