I read this on The New Scientist website. This is for all of us daft enought to be slaves to a certain Mr Bill Gates...

OVER the years readers have told us some nice stories about the mistakes made by Microsoft Word's spellchecker. Now it seems even Microsoft's own people have given up and turned it off.

A recent press release proudly announces "results of independent research" which show Microsoft "continuing to take charge of the business intelligence industry" and being the leader in "online analytical processing".

What a pity the very first line of the emailed release gives the company's name as "Micorsft".

Sheesh!!!



(Side Note: My spellchecker - being American and therefore polite doesn't recognise the word "arse"...)

I am American, and by being an English Major, I need to KNOW how to spell. So, therefore, I can spell most words correctly and at times, like all of us, I do misspell from time to time.
