I went to see a band play last nite and they had a band open for them. I've never heard of these guys before and they kinda sucked BUT they did do something smart. One of their onterage (sp?) went to every table and handed out free cds of theirs. I was pretty impressed with that. I know that can be costly but that's one way to get heard....

that's a great idea actually, we've done that before too.. we usually give away stickers and mini-posters at our shows.. unfortunetly we can't give away copies of our cd since we got to pay back the label, but we do have little samplers that have the 3 songs from that cd that are available online, along with a live acoustic track (from our saltbaste solutions cd) and an old song from our original demo called "kincaid" (which is also available online)... but yeah it's just burned sampler cds, but hopefully it makes us a few new fans..
i'm going to be getting the street team up and running again soon so i'll put word up here about that when i get all teh supplies, but it'd definetly include little burned sampler cds along with fliers, posters and maybe stickers (depending on how our supply goes)
but yeah, thanks for the suggestions!
