What the F*ck? >:(I buy all the albums, go to all the shows, and now this hiatus? He can't even take 5 minutes a week and write something on the web site? I don't know about you guys, but i'm losing f*cking interest. So what, he had issues last fall, its time to grow up and move on. As far as i am concerned, he owes us filter fans that waited patiently for 3 yrs. We bought the album and then what? nothing!.. "but right now I'm concerned about my health and want to get back into the best physical and mental condition to go back on the road next year." ~RP.... well, it's next year and where's the tour? forget the tour, he can't even tell us whats going on? they might as well have a VH1 behind the music and call it quits....This sucks...... ~a angry venting filter fan

Rich does NOT owe you or me anything. He is a musician who makes music. You made the choice to invest time and effort into the band. He did not hold a gun to your head and make you buy all three albums.
Second, his HEALTH is what matters. Sure it was a while ago but he has stated he is working on a new album on the site. If you actually read, he did say so in May. He is busy. He will post something soon. Don't think he has to owe you a daily update. Patience is a virtue, you know.
And third, check your attitude at the door. There is NO reason to post such opinions in this manner on this site. If you feel this way, express it civily or post it in this section where I have moved it. This is the place to rant.

Whatever happened to freedom of opinion? It doesn't apply here?

Of course it does, badass. I just don't think a very angry thread such as this should be in the regular section. It can out grow into a very loud argument that can explode across other portions of that board section and other sections. It belongs here. He still can express his opinon, I expressed mine and we can all read it.

If you're losing interest in Filter, I feel sorry for you. I'm really glad that the music means so much to me and that the albums have so much to give that I can enjoy them and keep finding something new on them forever ...
You can vent if you like (in the appropriate section) but maybe it's not a good idea to make personal accusations against Rich. I have to agree with RFW that he owes us nothing. Of course I'd stil like to see a new album, but I don't want anyone to rush it.

When we say...everybody is entitled to their opinion we need to make sure we're ready to live up to that statement is all! U all r entitled! The new dude is too altho he could express it better and in the proper place!
It just really pisses me off when people think that because u like somebody's work, u should never criticize them! WTF not? I had the same discussion at another board about another band...why can't I say ' I don't like this or that about this artist...I think he/she should...' ?? We do it about everybody else in our lives...syblings, parents,friends...why not the people who's music we like? Why be so over protecting about them?
I still love Filter and the music they have made but I AM entitled to being disapointed in certain things...u can't take that from me!

...Hmmm.... Yes... It seems a little "Pro Rich" or "No Rich"... But I have nothing to worry about cause I love the guy! Besides people need to recognize the fact that he actually does come here... He doesn't have to - but he does and imagine how he would feel to know that someone is abusing him for lack of committment to his fans? He seems very committed to me... Hell... I'd be stoked with a post once a year!... But that is just me and I respect your opinion... That was mine... Lets all accept and yield (as my Drama teacher would say)... he he he LJC

well rich needs his time and space and if no one else can deal with that then they need to get a better life. music is an art form and rich is trying to make it the best he can so if you don't like the fact that he hasn't been on here to say hello to you specifically then get over yourself rich has more important things to deal with than you if your posting shit on here about him. i am opinionated and yes i love rich and filter too and just cause you want something doesn't mean you will get it. anyways this is a great board and you are free to leave whenever you want so do us a favor and don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.

Rich dosen't have to post here at all you know . . . most "rock stars" don't even do that much. In any case were not here because Rich posts. This place was here long before and even if he never posts again I'm sure will be here long after. I respect the fact that your frustrated by the wate (we all are) but buying someones art does not entitle you to give the artist pointers.

Badass, check yer PMs, please!
I am ready to take any opinion. There are just sections we post rantings such as this in or we post it in a civil manner with out the anger in the other section. He has his opinion. You have read it. I have not taken it down. It is on the board.
The others, they are expressing their opinion as well. And their opinion seems to be that if you don't like Rich as much as you're expressing inside that post is then don't be a fan. Do I agree with it? A little, but not totally. I think that they're just feeling a bit rubbed the wrong way on a fan board. They are expressing their opinion much like he is.
I do think we should be able to criticize the musicians that do make the music we like, like if we don't like an album, song, art cover decision, ect. Yet, I also do think we cannot simply demand that a musician we love owes us anything. We are fans by choice. The musician gave us albums and songs that we have decided we like. They do not owe us any more beyond that. It may be his opinion that they do owe us more. You have read his opinion. I have merely disagreed.
I also think such a thread with such potential to become a flaming thread deserves to be in its proper board section. If we were to let it remain in the regular filter section it would become a very angry section in no time as I have seen several boards have explosions in on thread that take over a whole other thread and follow through until a whole board is nothing but petty bickering. It is now in this section and it will stay here. We can still discuss it here and read it here. Opinions are still being expressed and each opinion is being allowed.

I agree with you, RFW. I am 100/% for freedom of speech--but this is the place for a "flaming" thread... 'cause I'm also for keeping the peace... and this board was created in honor of Filter--it's a place for Filter fans to hook up...I don't understand someone attacking Filter on a Filter fan board...seems like an odd waste of energy...

I'd rather have them take their sweet ass time and make us a quality record than churn out a piece of crap every few months in an effort to milk the cash cow and appease the record labels doing the milking. As for Rich's health... one, in my humble opinion, you are towing the line regarding the fdg's rule about not discussing the band's private lives... and two, the concern for his health is not something that going to be resolved within a year or just by "growing up and moving on" - it's going to be a lifelong struggle and even if you don't care to be a fan of the band anymore because of the delay in the new album or tour then at least you should be respectful about how he's trying to resolve his personal "issues."
