Just as a sidenote, if any of you have yet to pick up the Evanescence cd, you are missing something amazing.
Now, I do not aspire to any job in the music industry, therefor you will not get a huge review from me, but...wow. I'm in love with Miss Amy Lee simply from the music itself..you have to listen to it to understand; and not just the radio singles, which kick ass.
Go. Get it. Now.
And don't download it..half the experience is her haunting eyes staring at you from the cd cover, which you realize around track eight is still in your hand, and that you've been staring at it for the entire play of the album.

Yep, I agree - that is an amazing CD. That woman has a fantastic voice that goes perfectly with that music. And yes, those eyes... I really hope they do well. I'm not sure they have enough diversity to have a long run though - maybe one or two more CD's.

I got the CD purely on recommendation from a friend of mine. And BOY! was I impressed!!
The only thing I would say is that she should spend more time exploring what I reckon is a TREMENDOUS vocal range... i.e. yeah, we all know she's got phenomenal power, but let's see what else she can do!
The album is AMAZING!!!

What was this to do about them being labelled as 'Christian Rock'? How did that come about?

I think its the fact that the founding members met at a christian camp (when they were younger) and the guy from 12 stone (<--their christian "rock" I believe) is on the one track.

That's part of it, from interviews I've gleaned that some of the other members (ie not the two actual founding/listed-as-members members) gave interviews where they mixed their personal beliefs with an actual philosophy for the band, and that confused alot of people.
