I've just uploaded the gear pics to my website, let me know if you can't see 'em! And I'm postin a pic of where I'm currently freelancing... (most of the time! I'm juggling clients at the mo!) The Mackie HUI (Human User Interface) is what I'm using where Richard P has a nice Pro Control... *grumbles* Still, the Mackie does the job it's designed to do, so I can't complain!!! (The silly buggers have just let me loose to go Gear Shopping for them. THE FOOLS!!!!! ;D )

what do you call all these stuff which have a screw hole in sides? these equipments should be inserted into a case ,right? so they must have a standard width and I think they all have the same width. how wide are they? *comes out of hiding* ;D Most studio "outboard" gear i.e. effects boxes and other external processors, some sound modules and a whole host of other goodies (like wine racks and mini refridgerators - as an example of the more obscure rack mountable items!) are screwded into 19 inch rack units. With the input, output (and anything else!) leads coming up on the patchbay. (Gawd knows I've wired enough of THEM in my day!! ARGH!!!) Wierdly - i.e. in the UK at least - the "sticky-out bits" with the screw holes on the side of the units are called "ears"... And yes, they can also be mounted into flight cases for live/mobile use! ;D (I'm hoping that made sense, I've been working some silly hours of late and it's about to get a whole lot sillier!!!)

a deviece like that, crow..is refered to as a "rack mount deviece". only rackmount gear i have is a Peavey Deltafex processor and an Alesis 3630 compressor....neither one is in a rack right now....they're just chillin on top of eachother....but they're both fairly light devieces, compaired to some of the other rack mount gear out there (like a 2000w poweramp).
