Alright kids, sorry for the delay in introducing myself. It's cool to read about everyone and what they're all about, so here goes.... Let's see, where to start. I'm 31, single (divorced actually - married at 19, divorced at 25), living in Southern California. Life is good, but hectic as all hell. I've got a job that I hate, but it pays well and allows me to indulge in my vices (music, music, music). Plus the company is paying for most of my tuition. I'm studying finance in order to become a CFP (Certified Financial Planner), on the off chance I don't become a rock star. That's my back up plan. My dreams include being able to play music for a living (a good living - I won't do it if I can't support my lifestyle), and owning my own recording studio/production company. We'll see how that goes. Music is my passion, but I've chosen to be able to live comfortably and well over fully pursuing my music. This is good and bad, and I'm sure many of you will have your views on this. Feel free to share. That's why I call my "band" (currently myself) "Friction". I've struggled for years with the friction of choosing passion over practicality. I'm a product of my parents - my dad is a musician (never made it big, has no money, but I love and respect him deeply), and my mom is the down to earth practical one. A little bit about my music - I write, sing, play guitar, and do a little programming and sequencing, etc. If I had to describe my singing style, well, I'd have to say it's been influenced by the likes of Richard Patrick (of course, as Filter is my favorite band), and Raine Maida (of Our Lady Peace). My vocals seem to be a combination of those two influences. As far as the music goes....old influences include Depeche Mode, The Cure, New Order, The Smiths/Morrissey, and George Benson (a little jazz in there), etc. Newer music influences include of course Filter, NIN, Electronic, Recoil, etc. It's a strange little world I live in, but I like it. Anyway, enough about me. Life is good. I frequent the music scene here in LA, so if I'm lucky enough to spot Mr. Patrick I'll let you all know. Thanks for making me feel welcome on the board. Richard and company should be thankful to have such a wonderful group of devoted fans! - Rob

...I'm Miss Blue - or to the people who love me: Leisa...(It is pronounced Lisa but my parents though they were cool in spelling it differently.)...I must be one of the youngest in the group scoring in at 15!.. But don't read anything into my age because I still love Filter as much (if not more) than the old folks - no offense...I think that this intro thing is a great idea...I just want to know if there are any other Australian Filter fans in the group because I know that sadly they are very rare over here... Making the possibility of ever seeing the guys live very slim... ...However I remain confident that I will see them someday... LJC

G'day, im 17 and live in Mebourne Australia, Im a long time listener first time caller. I found out about Filter back when they were on the Conan O'Brian show, we get it through pay TV here, they were awesome and I needed to find out more about them, so I looked them up on the net and bought "The Amulgamut", there music is great, the lyrics are fantastic and I cant stop listening to them. Unfortunately, Filter isnt well known down here, I dont know anyone that has heard of them, but im telling people about them. Then Rich post a message on his "Rich Words" link thing, he said he drops into the FDG, so i had a look too, and this place is full of great people ;D, so ive been reading and now here I am. Thanks for listening.
